Ways to Give
There are many ways to give to support the causes you care about at Butler University. Where you give is up to you—provide immediate impact through the Butler Fund for Student Scholarship, create a legacy through a planned gift, or provide leadership and endowed gifts to support faculty, athletics, facilities, and more. Every gift is a valuable investment in the Butler experience. A gift to Butler University in honor or memory of a loved one is a heartfelt way to pay tribute to a friend, colleague, mentor, or family member while supporting the mission and programs of the University. Memorial gifts can be made online, by mail, by payroll deduction (for Butler employees), and through endowments or planned giving.
Your loved one’s obituary is an ideal place to inspire individuals to make a memorial gift in that individual’s honor. For obituary announcements, we suggest the following language, which can be tailored to your needs:
“Memorial contributions may be made to Butler University. Please direct your contributions to (fund of your choice) in memory of (name of individual). Donations can be made online or by check payable to Butler University.”
For more information about how to make memorial or in honor gifts, please contact the Office of Advancement via email or at 317-940-9469.
Crowdfunding provides a unique opportunity for campus groups to fundraise for specific initiatives using peer-to-peer outreach. These projects are University-centered initiatives that directly enhance the Butler experience for our students, faculty, and staff, and support the University’s mission. This can include things like new or upgraded equipment, guest speakers, professional development opportunities for students, and more.
All verified University athletic teams including club sports, academic departments and colleges, full-time faculty and staff, and various other official University programs are eligible to launch a crowdfunding campaign.
If you are a Butler faculty or staff member interested in launching a campaign, please fill out an application or contact Assistant Director of Annual Giving, Hope Hagen ’17, with questions.
